The Roxio company has released a new program – Roxio Crunch for quickly and easily conversion your DVDs, movies, and TV shows for use with Apple TV, iPod, and iPhone. Powerful compression and conversion technologies work together to bring content from almost any source. Roxio Crunch includes both Mac and PC versions. Roxio Crunch uses video conversion mechanism from other company’s product Roxio Toast. Also Roxio Crunch's interface is similar to Roxio Toast one – to convert file the user has to just drag wanted files into the main window and press the process button. This program supports QuickTime and other formats, including DivX and MPEG-2.
Roxio Crunch can compress videos into iPod-ready movie files. DVDs often include many video files, so Crunch shows you preview frames of each one to help you find what you're looking for. You can also use the length information to help identify the main video. With Roxio’s Crunch you can also convert several files all at the same time. You can save time by adding multiple video files and have them converted in one step. Mix and match content with both 16:9 widescreen and 4:3 fullscreen aspect ratios.
The reading, converting, compressing (‘crunching’) and saving processes are very quick, with no interaction needed from the user. Once completed, it then opens iTunes (if that is your choice), where you can then watch your video or just download it to your iPod or whatever.
